Lynn Neal from Wake Forest University explores "Religious Intolerance in the Progressive Era"
Main Library, 310 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte

"Progressive Era" America is remembered for rapid urban growth, immigration, and social and economic reform. But many Americans with deep religious commitments responded to the era's cultural changes with fear, even violence. How did Americans struggle with issues of faith in the 1910s and 20s – struggles that still echo today? Lynn Neal from Wake Forest University explores "Religious Intolerance in the Progressive Era."

Free to attend. Offered in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.
