We dedicate this year’s HERstory celebration to two remarkable women whose passing we mourn in 2021.
Theresea Elder (pictured center) was a native Charlottean, the County’s first African American public health nurse, fierce healthcare advocate for the city’s most vulnerable, and a dear friend of Levine Museum of the New South.
Jill Dinwiddie was a civic leader, a philanthropist, and a tireless advocate for women. She served on the boards of countless organizations, including The Jamie Kimball Foundation, Good Friends, and Levine Museum of the New South, and she drove the fund raising effort that has produced the Planned Parenthood health care facility in Charlotte.
