What is the Summer Institute?
Levine Museum’s first Summer Institute is a weeklong opportunity for educators to participate in our professional development workshops led by our Educator Advisory Group teachers and experience Museum field trips.
Who is it for?
The Summer Institute is particularly applicable for secondary Social Studies and ELA teachers, but is open to any educator wishing to strengthen their classroom practices and learn more about Levine Museum’s educational opportunities for students. We are excited about the possibility of welcoming educators from public and independent settings and various geographic regions. Teams within schools are also encouraged to apply, but each person within the group must fill out the application form.
Why should I apply?
The Summer Institute is an opportunity for teachers to participate in a concentrated and cohesive set of professional development workshops and learning experiences outside of the school year. It also offers the chance to network with other educators, get a head start on planning, earn CEUs, and learn more about Levine Museum’s school offerings.
How does the application process work?
Levine Museum’s Education staff and Educator Advisory Group will review applications to decide on the cohort who will participate. Applicants will be told in a timely manner whether or not they will be invited to participate in the Summer Institute program.
How much does it cost?
The Summer Institute is totally free!
